Some know I am originally from PA going to school in VA (like wose). This past year the parentals didn't allow me to have a car on campus in fear of my home sickness getting to me and I would end up driving 350 miles home for a day and a half (if that). SO this coming summer we will be looking at cars for me which is why I come to you......

I was wondering if you wonderful people could assist me by giving me any information on decent cars that would make good mileage to VA and back to PA on breaks.....

Honda's are really reliable AND pretty good on mileage

We just bought my wife a new Chevy Equinox, it gets around 400mi to the tank.

But really I'd advise anything that's just safe and reliable.

if you are looking for a cheap car with good gas millage and a good warranty head to toe...usually Kia's are pretty good for it. A Rio gets 42 miles per gallon. You can get a fully loaded Rio for about 9k new. That includes 100,000 mile 5 year warranty with roadside assistance for five years whether it be a flat or that you run out of gas. Only downside to a Rio is if it breaks down after the warranty they can be expensive to fix because you have to get all the parts direct. You can trade it in for a new car by the time five years and your warranty is up anyway. /shrug

I have a old honda Accord over 250,000 miles and the other 3 I know of all are over that milage with good mpg and low operation cost, should be able to find one for around 1,500 or less, good luck

It is scientific law that bigger things traveling the same distance reach the destination faster than smaller things. Fact. Buy a school bus or at the very least, the biggest Hummer you can find. It is the only way.
